Our Beneficiaries

In 2022, we donated a combined total of $9,000 to our beneficiaries. Here is what each beneficiary was able to do with the $3,000 donation provided to their center

Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center

The Beth C. Wright Center offers excellent education and support services, often in collaboration with partner organizations, for anyone on the cancer journey throughout every community in Washington and Hancock counties. We offer free of charge to all participants in several sites throughout the two counties “wellness” programs, Cancer Exercise Programs, and Support Groups. In addition, we offer lectures on cancer related topics and food demonstrations for healthier eating, and complementary therapies.

The Beth C. Wright Center was able to use the $3,000 to assist a family making their home more accessible for a family member going through cancer treatments. The family needed to add a wheelchair ramp so their loved one could continue to stay in their home during treatments.

Team Hailey Hugs

Team Hailey Hugs (Bethel, Maine) supports families with children battling cancer all over the state of Maine. They provide financial assistance to families with children diagnosed with cancer as well as financial assistance to families with children whose battle are bigger than their hearts. They also provide financial assistance to families needing support with car repairs and mortgage payments. Tabitha Steward, mother of Hailey (passed in 2017) and Founder/CEO of THH is also a family support specialist who works individually with families and social workers during the initial diagnosis.

Team Hailey Hugs used the $3,000 to help support a single mother with burial costs of her child who had passed away during the Ride for a Cure 2022 event. Without this donation, the mother would have received financial assistance of $1,000 through their program but due to the timing they were able to cover almost half of the funeral costs.
